Sonnet 4.6, the prior default mode, is priced at $3/$15 MToK. • With Opus 4.7, we’ve updated the tokenizer to improve how the model processes text. The tradeoff is that for some context types, the same input may produce more tokens. • Effort levels control how long the model thinks and can directly impact cost. Opus 4.7 defaults toxhigh effort, which can cost roughly 20–30% more than Opus 4.6’smax effort.
